Back Pain and the "Teeter Inversion Table" Fitness and Gym Equipment
I have been playing golf for over 20 years and like most golfer's I have
suffered from lower pack pain, this has really effected how I play 18
holes. I'm not a professional golfer just someone that is very
passionate about the game of golf, I play socially and over the years
golf has played an important part in business with many deals and days
out on the green.

Lower back pain is one of the most common and costly diagnoses that the
health service manages in the UK on a continuous basis. It is one of
the most common reasons to visit a doctor, physical therapist, or
chiropractor. The costs for evaluating and treating lower back pain is
estimated around 40 million UK pounds a year in the UK.
I have spent many hours with physio therapist's and my doctor trying to
improve the pain I have been suffering over the last 7 years. I have had
MRI scans, physio, exercise routines, which has highlighted nothing and
done very little to improve my back pain.
After over 30 visits to my doctor he carried out some research on the sport of golf and advised I should hang my clubs up!
"It's poor technique and the repetition of hitting balls that can cause
an injury to the lower back". Plus the fact most of us sit at a desk for
8-10 hours a day and perhaps sitting in the car for two hrs all start
to add to the stress and strain on the lower back, you begin to
understand why there is such a high rate of back pain among golfers.
A back injury can result from stress on the spine, usually when the body
does not perform the correct sequence during the golf swing.
The Amazing fact: Eight times your body weight is forced through your
spine as you make contact with the ball. So if you have poor mechanics
combined with a weak back you are more likely to cause yourself a
significant amount of injury.
I wasn't going to give up golf, my doctor had seen some information on
inversion tables, suggested I go away and have a look. I this stage I
was happy to look at anything and certainly would try anything to cure
the pain, I had even tried acupuncture with no success.
I started searching for Inversion Tables, came across a site
www.teeter-online.co.uk where a guy called Roger Teeter had developed
one of these inversion tables over 20 years ago to help people with back
pain. After watching the videos reading about how fellow golfers had
used one of these inversion tables with great success I was ready to
give it a go.
This is how I came across Health Clubs At Home, they are the European
distributer for Teeter Inversion Tables, went online
www.healthclubsathome.com and had several models to choose from. I
wasn't sure what would be best for me, so after a quick telephone call a
lovely lady suggested I come and view and try the Inversion Tables. I
was about 100 miles from Peterborough where www.healthclubsathome.com.
It was certainly worth the drive as I got to try four types of inversion
table, the staff couldn't have done enough and 1 hour later I left with
my new Teeter Inversion F7000 table. Once I got home it only took 20
minutes to set it up and I was away. I followed the users guidelines and
watched the free DVD. I started my Inversion therapy program slowly as
advised in the DVD and the supporting Inversion guides.
Now I use my Inversion table for 20 minutes a day in the comfort of my
own home, my back is now 90% of what it used to be. I rarely suffer
lower back pain even after a full day of golf doing 18 holes !
Very occasionally I get the pain, after a long day in the car sitting
for hours. It doesn't concern me that much as I know once I get on the
Inversion table again it wont take long to get me back up to speed with
my back feeling good again.
I just hope if you are suffering from back pain you read this as I
wanted to share with everyone that is in the same situation that I used
to be in suffering from back pain, with no light at the end of it. Try
Inversion it has really changed my life !!!
